AP Exam Registration Information

Advanced Placement testing is offered to all students whether or not they are enrolled in a course designated as Advanced Placement.   AP coursework will assist students in preparing for the national Advanced Placement tests given in May.   The tests are optional and are for those students who wish to earn college credits. Students will register for testing in February.

Wisconsin Statutes 120.12(22) requires the Greenfield School District to pay the fee for taking Advanced Placement exams for students who qualify for free or reduced priced meals.  Students who do not qualify for free or reduced meals must pay their own exam fees.

The cost of each exam during the 2017/2018 school year is $94. You may pay online with a credit card through Infinite Campus, by check (made out to Greenfield High School), or with cash.  Cash or check payments must be dropped off at the GHS main office, attn: Ms. Karen Schilz.  Click HERE for directions on how to pay using Infinite Campus.
Students who choose not to test after they have registered will have the option of reimbursement of all but $25 for each exam. The $25 will be used  to cover the unused exam fee with CollegeBoard and to cover the cost of processing the exam.  This $25 fee also applies to students who qualify for fee reduction and register but do not take one or more exams.

Please note that students do not automatically receive the same accommodations they get in school, even if they have an IEP or 504 plan. If you believe your student needs accommodations, please contact Mr. Williams by February 10, 2018.

The online registration form and receipt of all exam payments must be done NO LATER THAN FRIDAY, February 23rd at 3:30 p.m. If you have any questions, please call Dave Williams, AP Coordinator, at (414) 855-2413.

The AP exam registration window is now closed.

Reminder:  All payments for AP exams must be made within 24 hours of exam registration.  Failure to promptly pay for one or more exams may result in those exams not being ordered and student not being able to test in May.

AP Information
The Advanced Placement Program (AP)

The Advanced Placement Program allows students to take college level courses that may give them college credit while they are still in high school. As noted by the College Board’s research notes, students who take Advanced Placement courses and exams are much more likely than their peers to complete a bachelor’s degree in four years or less.

In May of 2017, Greenfield High School students took Advanced Placement exams in 15 different courses.  In addition, 263 GHS students took 443 exams with an average score of 2.69 (out of a possible 5.0). The Wisconsin state average AP exam score is 3.07.  GHS is also very pleased to recognize its 61 AP Scholar Award recipients.  In 2016, GHS had 36 AP Scholars, 8 AP Scholar with Honors recipients, and 17 AP Scholar with Distinction award recipients.  These distinctions are awarded to students who take 3 or more AP exams and score 3, 3.5, and 4 or higher, respectively.

We are happy to announce that GHS is again offering 15 Advanced Placement courses during the 2017-2018 school year.
